Most likely made for the Centennial Exhibition of 1876. This card dates to before the Mack Tool Company bought out the D. R. Barton brand.

. Sent to the one and only Botton Herndon of B arboursville, Virginia, USA, this curious advertising envelope from Mack & Co., the later day owners of the D. R. Barton brand. The front of the cover shows two men forging carving tools by hand. The back of the cover shows what a D. R. Barton chisel looks like after 40 years of continuous use.
